Papering over the Cracks: the documentary film

October 13, 2011October 13, 2011 Kate WardEconomic & Social Rights

The Seven Towers Residents Group documentary film Papering Over the Cracks which was shown over the summer at the West Belfast Feile is now available to view online. It may be of interest to those following the work of the group and all those who showed an interest in a previous post on the same subject. The film focuses on the Group’s campaign against the NI Housing Executive’s £7 million plans for the north Belfast flats. As explained in the previous post the concern is that these plans do not adequately address the problems of chronic dampness and excessively exspensive heating, ignore international best practice and will constitute a waste of scarce public resources. The film is just 16 minutes long but powerfully documents the experiences of the resident’s group.
